Valéria Costa-Hong’s study on 122 hypertensive patients at the University of São Paulo Medical School revealed that women, regardless of menopause status, had higher wave reflection indices than men, even after adjusting for various factors. Menopausal women also showed increased augmentation index values, suggesting a possible link between menopause and arterial stiffness.
