Previous studies on anti-inflammatory therapy in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have been found to reduce CV risk in RA patients. Blanken and colleagues studied 61 RA patients and found modest beneficial changes in some surrogate markers of vascular disease (IMT, AIx@75 and PWV) after anti-inflammatory therapy, which were associated with improvement in disease activity markers.
